Recently I had an interview with Helen Bee from Together Trust for a possible placement. Together Trust is a charity that works with children in need of foster homes and special care due to different disabilities some of these children has. Helen works in the design department designing booklets and leaflets encouraging people to foster children. My interview went really well she was impressed by my complete honesty within my application and personal statement. She asked me questions based on my personal statement; I answered them confidently and honestly. Helen also looked at my portfolio and gave me some advice on how to improve it, even though she complimented me for my professionalism throughout my portfolio layout and how I explained each project. Helen felt that my portfolio visit was missing a editorial piece of work or brochure design that would finish my portfolio perfectly. My portfolio is very typographic based. At the end of the interview Helen offered me a voluntary placement for as long as I would like, whilst I look for a full time job or another placement. I will start my placement once my final major project has been completed and handed in for assessment. She understood how much work I have to complete and offered me the placement after its complete. I am very excited to work for Together Trust, this will be good experience to have, to improve my design skills and also communicating to the client to fully understand what they expect.
